| Don't! Stop! Belieeeeving! |
[Nov. 18th, 2009|10:09 am] |
Ahh, it's been a while! I have been soooo busy (exhaustingly busy...) hmm, how have things changed...
Oh well, I have switched MAC's for now, I am now at Southcenter! Even thought it is farther away.... I get way more hours (and more free makeup!). It's really fun so far, the girls there are wicked. I will miss my chinook crew though <3. Oh and I work with Nikita from Canada's next top model, haha.
I found an old super 8 film camera a while ago, I and I have just started figuring it all out. I stopped by the CSIF and picked up some film (oh man its like 18 bucks for 3 minutes...). But I can't wait to start experiementing. I want to do my final film project with super 8... but I am not sure it will be developed in time... I have like 2 weeks to finish everything...
Holy crap, I am doing a print with Justin Waddell... and it is taking forever. But I am learning a lot (sometimes re-learning). I think it should be pretty sweet, we are on the last leg of it.
Dat and I are maybe thinking of buying a condo, haha. We figured there is no use wasting money on rent really, when we could be paying off somthing we own for around the same price. Plus we both HATE moving, so the more permenent the better, haha. Besides if we want somthing better (when I am done my Masters in a few years?) we can rent it out or something.
We still have those 600 dollar travel vouchers.... there might be a New York 3 in the future... or Tokyo 2, haha.
OH! and I am going to be modeling in Art aWEARness this year ^_^. I think I am going to be some kind of sexy cotton candy, haha! Sounds hillarious! I am so excited! so everyone should come! Its actually the 10 year anniversary, so there will be a friday and saturday show in february, and there is a big party afterwards.
Oooh, and I am doing a photoshoot with Tim next weekend, sooo many rhinestones!
Can you believe I graduate this May! Wooo Hooo! (this has sooo been the toughest year so far) |

| I wanted so much, but only needed you |
[Oct. 6th, 2009|07:02 pm] |
Thank you for another year of love, laughter and making my dreams come true. Can you believe how far we've come? Some weird girl in a children's ninja costume, rushing off into the night, and a silly fanboy taking pictures. Do you know I still get butterflies when we kiss? I may not be the same person that you fell in love with 3 years ago, but I am trying to be a less selfish person, less guarded person, a person that deserves your love.
Your perfect, uninhibited Love.
You are, and always will be my Darien, Happy 3 years, Baby <3 |

[Sep. 21st, 2009|08:04 pm] |
ah, just a little update...
I got one of my dream jobs at MAC <3, It pays really well, is super fun and doesn't interfear with school to much! It also give me an excuse to buy and play with makeup.... The interview process was intense!
I joined a Belly Dancing class and a Ballet class this semester as well. I have been meaning to get back into dance since pretty much I quit dance (like 10 years ago...)and I am still in the "just do it" kind of mood. I am really excited, I had belly dance tonight... I am pretty clumsy but it was really fun! I am really hoping to gain some grace, haha. I am going to try and do a dance class every semester.
Had a wicked night with Jenny, Dat and the Sanchez/Amanda crew. hillarity ensued...a long with many other emotions! We must do another one... maybe with less booze (but only slightly), haha!
I also joined the ACAD performance club! We are going to do monthly public performance pieces around the city, so I will keep everyone updated!
Oh and I went to MRU because they had bouncey castles!!!!! I got some good jumping in, and my sister and I got to make a super sweet flip book and eat free cotton candy... ACAD needs more of that action!
I love to be super busy... I don't know why...
random - my boss loves sailor moon! - I had a "young Elivis" milkshake at Boogies Burgers, you can also get a "Fat Elivis" which includes Bacon... - I am reading a million books at once right now.... which include "the picture of Dorian Gray" "Without You" and the last 4 issues of Fruits Baskets (My love has been rekindled) - Amanda and Sanchez are hitting up Japan again in February... soooo tempting.... - Amanda might be my soul mate.... - Shelby is also my soul mate.... - Speaking of which it is Dat (cosmic soulmate) and I's 3 year anniversary in a few weeks! We don't have any elaborate plans yet.... how do we beat last year.. do we want to beat last year? What will be left for our honeymoon, haha - ran into Agata from high school... - I think there is going to be magical debbie time in october! |

| Ahhh VACATIONSSSSS |
[Aug. 12th, 2009|09:32 pm] |
Ah went to Ontario for a couple weeks. Got to see a bunch of cousins, aunts, and uncles. Good times. It was nice to be there again. We went past my old house, and my old outdoor pool~ ITS STILL FREE!!!! I am so jealous! We went fishing, skinned and ate it ! so butch! so disterbing! so yummy!
I am tempted to do my masters in T-Bay because its only a year (those bitches have 3 year bachelors degrees!) but i don't want to be forced to work in Northern Ontario...ew.
Maybe...maybe going to San Fransisco this weekend for the Opening of Baby, The Stars Shine Bright store. It should be super sweet, there will be a tea party (with the designers and models!), a fashion show, and a screening of "Kamikazi Girls", there will be a few other japanese brands opening store too (Black Peace Now, and 6%Doki Doki), some J-Rock guy (paracite? or somthing ) and the sweetest of all Amano will have a gallery up and have a panel and autograph signing <3 ahhhhh. I am getting spoiled! I want to go!
Its hard to figure out when the summer of "just do it" turns into the summer of "spending way to much money"... |

[Jul. 15th, 2009|11:55 pm] |
No Doubt was wicked, they played all the songs I wanted them to, including my favorite "Sunday Morning" which I was almost pissed they didn't play, haha. They had a 3 song encore which I thought was great (Sunday Morning was the last song in the encore). They even played "Bathwater" <3 I enjoyed how they actually got in the crowd, and had the openers (Bedouin Soundclash and Paramore) on for a group song. Most of the songs were from Tragic Kingdom <3 and a few other gooders. The openers were pretty good, too.
I think rocked a little to hard and will be sooo sore tommorrow... but its HARRY POTTER TIME! (hopefully). |

| Tokyo Part 2 ! |
[Jul. 12th, 2009|02:53 pm] |
*full full train - We only got on one really ridiculously packed train! I think it was the last train of the night, and I am extremely grateful that we had seats! People were like throwing themselves onto the train, and everyone would tip. It was frightening… one guy used leverage to fling himself in!
*Yoyogi- We got a little lost trying to find it… but Yoyogi park was really beautiful… until mysterious voices came out to tell us that we couldn’t leave the path.. Or eat…or drink.. Or touch animals, haha. We found the temple, and a wedding was going on! So magical. I bought some good luck charms for my family, and the even re-blesses them when Andrew and I dropped them. It was really great, they were just like Rei in Sailor Moon, haha. We then found another gift shop and got some souvenirs (like those cute little star candies!). We got lost trying to find the rockabilly’s but saw one and then stalked him!
*Harajuku- We went to Harajuku twice, the 1st time with Andrew, but it was raining like crazy! We still got to see the rockabilly’s (but the wouldn’t dance in the rain) and a few cosplayers. I bought a skirt and we looked at all the loli in Lafayette mall <3. We eat at this awesome hip hop all you can eat spaghetti bar! It was yummy and only like 10$. The seconded time we went to wandered around much more, Dat got video game shirts for a few people that came in tubes! I wanted a tube shirt, but I didn’t like there girls ones very much, haha. We also found HIDE store, so Dat was pretty excited. I bought a dress and some shoes <3. And there more more cosplayers, lolitas and even the Free Hugs guy out this time! We still missed the rockabilly dancing because we got distracted shopping… and we eat more pasta.
*Sensoji temple - We went to the big temple in Asakusa ? It was really cool because there was a old school market leading to it. However it was a little bit touristy… but we had some cute Japanese snacks (okay… one of them was yucky). The temple was under construction… but all the gates and little side shines were really beautiful. We all got fortunes! You shake a box until a number come out, when you get your number you look for it amongst a bunch of tiny coberts and pull it out to get your fortune. Andrew got the “worst” fortune, I got the “better” fortune and Dat got the “best” fortune, haha. Andrew had to tie his to a string so it would go away, haha.
*Tokyo Tower - Tokyo tower was surprisingly fun. We eat some noodles, took a hilarious purikura pic with the cone head Tokyo tower twins… and saw the saddest amusement park ever…. We also founf a really cool looking opera house or something…
*high heels - All Japanese girls wear high heels at all times! I may have been really tall there, but we will never know…
*sooo many arcades- like at least one on every block, and most were over 4 floors. They were kind of disgustingly smoky though… you can’t escape smoking in Japan, even Mc Donald’s has smoking! We still played soooo many crane games! I won a crappy camera ( in two tries! I had an audience, it awesome), Dat got one two but in like 5 tries, haha. We got lots of Pringles and such from them too. You can even win pastry and ice cream in them!
*Hostle friends- We made some friends at the Koenji. One was a Japanese American named Jon, he was really helpful and gave us a lot of incite into Japanese culture, we even went out Karaoke, and midnight Jeans shopping together, haha. We also met a cute Japanese girl and a guy from Saudi Arabia ! It was a lot of fun, we stayed up late way to many times because we were all chatting!
*Japanese McDonalds- sooo good! They had a Mc Pork, haha, and my favourite a bacon potato pie, yumm! I got go a slab of chicken that comes with flavour that you shake on it and then eat it like that! It was tasty. *ueno park / market- A kind of cool market with food, cheap clothes and shoes. Also lots of crazy people… I guess Dat didn’t notice. We also tried to help a lot European family to no avail, haha. Man I would never take my kids to Japan, there is seriously naughty stuff everywhere. *Shibuya 109- Holy, The day we went I think that every girl and Tokyo was there. There was a sale… and it was madness. I must say to any male friends that go to Japan… if you want to find girls, this is the place. Each store had a screaming girl on a megaphone yelling out what was on sale and such, and girls just everywhere pushing and shoving. These were not normal girls, they were mostly bleach blond, tan and wearing tons of makeup, ah, we found Ko-Gals! I was excited, and they were excited to sell me things. I bought the cutest shoes! They have a heart for a heel <3... But are so high I can barely walk, haha… but it doesn’t really matter does it?
* porno everywhere… like advertised on the streets… *Love hotel- On our last full day in Japan (or course after Andrew went home!) we went to find a Love Hotel, haha. Its really one of those things you have to do! We found a really cheesy looking one on Shibuya’s love hotel hill. It was bright Red and looked kind of like a castle or something… you go in and look at the rooms on a board where the vacant ones are lit up, then you press the one you want. Ours had bright pink walls, and was actually kind of nice! Thy have a little vending machine for condoms and lube, haha, and you can order a variety of sexy costumes for 250 yen each. They also will bring you food or desserts. Ours had a vibrator beside the bed… which scared me… I don’t know where that thing has been! We also had two channels of free porn, that were soooo bad, one seriously looked like awkward couples sex (really really awkward, like 1st time awkward) and the other was just creepy… yup… This was Dat and Is 1st chance to watch Japanese television, and ended up watching the anime channel! We caught the last episode of Dragonball gt!
*Crapes everywhere- yum! |

| KYU KYU BEEEEAAAAMMMM! |
[Jul. 9th, 2009|12:17 am] |
Okay! I got back from Tokyo yesterday and well it was crazy and awesome and exhausting! Dat and I were there a few days, then Andrew met up with us for a little bit, then we spent the last few days alone again. I think we all had a lot of fun!
*koenji- This was the neborhood that we stayed in. You had to walk past a few pink salons and into this tiny door too get in! They has the skinniest staircases! In fact everything was tiny... and moist! Japan is sooooo moist! we walked off the plane and felt like we were in a sauna! Koenji was a great neibourhood, it was packed full of second hand shops and there were always people singing and playing instruments in the streets <3, we almost joined a hippy circle one night, haha. Our room was right above a shisha bar and beside a hostess club (or potentially something shiftier...) where we could here a hilariously bad karaoke guy EVERYNIGHT. We were always so exhausted, we never had trouble falling asleep. *Nakano Broadway- our 1st day we wanted to stay close to koenji so we walked over to next neibourhood Nakano - we walked because we woke up freaken early ... and had the time. Holy crap it was over whelming! Sooo much anime everywhere! Figures, manga, cells, everywhere!!! We spent all day there! This also where we discovered our love of Crane games... Dat blew like 3000 yen on them in the 1st day! He won a naughty towel, and I won a banana baby (soo weird) and a teddy! I was so excited and the chunky sweaty girl beside me was happy for me too! She had a whole bag of stuff, an obvious pro! Dat found is Pokemon game (heavy sigh), haha. I got some Gothic Lolita bibles and Dat found some X-Japan books.
*Namjatown - This was a food "amusement park"... there was a gyoza stadium... it was weird and delicious (we had qyoza with cheese sauce and corn). They has all kinds of them! Then we got lost trying to find the dessert portion... ended up in this creepy place with music and cats everywhere...reminded me of some creepy propaganda park...we did find dessert eventually. I tried wasabi ice cream and it was terrible!
* Ikebukuro- this is where the place was where you could pay to pet cats. We also found the girls equivalent to Akibahara (sort of) male host clubs are lame and apparently full of white guys.... but i found a whole store of yaoi doujinshi! I am not going to lie ... I picked up some digimon stuff... I tryed to find Harry Potter for jenny, but i couln't find her couple!
*pokemon center - yup... pokemon everything. Dat spent like 100 cnd...
*closet child - second hand lolita! sooo goood! I went to all 3 stores...
* Sony Building- We had NO idea Michael Jackson died until like a week later! We went to Sony in Ginza to test products or whatever, and learned while using there free internet (we had had no forms of communication until this point). The guy beside us mocked us... I was shocked and devastated!
*imperial palace- we walked around the east gardens. It was very beautiful and we found a stray cat but he did not want to be our friend...
*Godzilla - We saw that my map had a Godzilla statue on on it that was not to far from where we were, so we ventured off to go find it, we got really confused and lost... found a park with a cool samurai statue and when we found it... it was freaken tiny! We were like WHAT!!!!! All that for this! Oh well.. pictures ensued.
*Ghibli museum- Even the bus to get there was cute! The 1st room was sooooo magical <3 it had an amazing totoro carousal that when the lights went out it looked like it was constantly moving. You could look at all the animations sketches and make them move! They had a pretty garden where we met a friendly prating mantis and a fuzzy caterpillar.
*Kabuki cho- Shinjuku's big red light district, OH man male hookers (or whatever...) had the most elaborate hair and outfits... they looked ridiculous, i hope that is not what japanese girls think is sexy.... Japanese girls always dress to the nines... sometimes it was hard to tell if they were hookers or not...
*Gundam- We went to see the to scale Gundam in Odaiba. It was huge and lit up at night! There were tons of people taking pictures of it, and we tried to get hilarious ones.
*Fuji tv- looked soo cool... also where Matts dad worked in Digimon...we went up to the museum part, and took many excellent pictures... We got one where you would stand in front of a green screen and hold card up that would give you an hilarious outfit!
*Farris wheel- YES, we went on the giant Ferris wheel that i always saw in Digimon! It was soo high and we could see all of the Tokyo lights at night! We also happened to come when the whole Farris wheel was Hello Kitty themed!
*Joyopolous- the last thing we did in Odaiba was go to the Sega amusement park! They had a wicked ride where you would fly back and forth and spin but when you hit the middle you had to jump and you would get points against the other people on the ride. *Don Quote- crazy store where you can buy everything from groceries to fetish costumes... We found the infamous Hello Kitty vibrator and Dat bought some Gundam condoms! I stocked up on snacks...
*Shinjuku- This was our 1st taste of the Japan you always see in pictures... all the light and people and stores, people handing out tissues everywhere and trying to get you to buy stuff. It was crazy and great. I got a yukata, and then we found the Marui one, which has a whole floor of Lolita, sooo tempting... I eventually bought a Metamorphose lucky pack. It had a really cure skirt, bloomers, a cute journal, sweater.... and the most hideous pants ever! ah well, they can't all be good! *Akibahara x 3 - Holy crap soooo much anime! store upon store of just anime and electronics! most of them were like 7 floors! We went to 2 maid cafes here (on different days) @home cafe and MaiDreaming- they were both soo expensive. We had to "kyu kyu beeeaaammm" our food before we ate it and they would draw pictures on some of it. For an extra cost Dat and Andrew played a game with a maid of their choice (@home) and we got Polaroid’s with a maid of our choice at both of them! It was fun an weird. At MaiDreaming this guy got a HUGE omelette and when it came out they had like flashing lights and it was a huge event, he got a picture with all of the maids. We found some cheap figures and such. Cell phones are huge and yet adorable in Japan!!! They all have hearts and pretty buttons! I wish they worked here!
Part 2 to come…..
I am having troubles getting my sleep back in order! |

[Feb. 3rd, 2009|08:32 pm] |
I decided to go to Edmonton this weekend to hang out with my family <3, We had a lot of fun, and it was good because I don't think I have been there since the funeral. We went to West Ed and got some cute things and a sweet Fisheye Lomo <3 cool pictures will ensue! I am also pretty sure Dat and Karlie are almost the same person... We also took Puma... who did pretty okay until the way back when he started foaming at the mouth! but I think he just eat somthing weird because it stopped... and he is okay now. I went to Jenny's uncle's funeral today. It was sad, but it was cool to see all of Jenny's relatives (yay! Britsh accents). I felt horrible for her aunt, Dat is not aloud to die!!!!!!!
I have a lot of homework to do before Vancouver!

[Jan. 27th, 2009|09:27 pm] |
So yesterday Jenny and I went out for some din din at Moxies, and of course we were there for like 4 hours! I think the waiter was a little afraid... then we walked down 17th ave where in the mist of a pubic hair conversation I neglected to realise there was a guy right behind us, I am pretty sure we made his night... Then we decided to pop into Shoppers (the only thing open) and got some sweet mascara and GIANT ROSES!!!! Which we were going to buy last week but for some unknown reason didn't. At any rate throwing giant roses and yelling "I BELIEVE IN YOU!!!" is pretty much the most hillarious! The shoppers people were also a little afraid... We eventually got home waaayyy late... and like every monday I stayed up way to late.
Today was weird! I went to school a little late (lack of sleep...) and FINNALLY got to watch the the infamous episode of Rich Bride, Poor Bride with the "I wanna eat, I wanna dance, I wanna meet people, ITS MY NIGHT AND I WANT IT!" guy... hillarity... At school I went to my 1st class, then sat around for a few hours chatting with my friends and reading until Jenny called to tell me that her uncle has passed away!!!! I love you jenny! I hope your doing okay! I guess I will let her tell that story though...
At some point Nola pulled out an ear piercing kit that she got in japan. It was shapped like a bunny and all the directions were in japanese (not to mention we were not in the most sanitary of places...), but Bret (the print tech) came in and convinced her to pierce his ear! AND SHE DID! It was a little frightening, but actually went okay. Now I really really want one! You can only use it once though (I guess that's good...). Japan is so weird, those things cost like 8 dollars there, and like anyone can do it!
Eventually Dan showed up! Awesomely enough he knew another print major buddy, because Joyelle and him used to work at the bread place together! We talked for a little bit and tried to help her with her art work, haha, I am pretty sure she went with her original idea! We went out to eat a little pho in kennsington and catch up, which was pretty fun (even though we both had to go to class at 6). Then we parted! Maybe we can hang out every tuesday, haha! Gah, in class I was forced to watch Alien again! NOT COOL! I mostly tried to read stuff and ignore all the scary going on... at the end of the movie Joyelle offered me a ride home (she is pretty much the nicest girl ever!) because we were afraid, haha. I think I work tommorrow night, then Dat might come over... we should maybe plan vancouver? |

[Jan. 25th, 2009|10:30 pm] |
Ahh, things have been good. Dat and I (preemptivly) went to the Wedding Expo today! It was so much fun! It was sooo funny hear everyone ask "what's the grooms name?" and "when's the date?" . We entered sooo many contests, and got some yummy cake samples ans freebies. We wished we would have brought Jenny though, I think she might have enjoyed it. Only one lady commented on how young we were, and Dat ran into a few friends (ofcourse). There was a sweet fashion show, but the male models really made it, they had sweet choregraphed dances! I have sooo many pamplets! I wish i still had my awesome pamplet collection... ah good times!
um.. what else have i done... * went karaoke with the co-workers * hung out with Jenny at various malls (haha) and re-kindled our love of childhood books * school stuff, we are making a sweet portfolio of everyones works for each of us to have at the end of the year, and a cool flip book * more school * animal crossing (soooo addictive!)
Jenny and I might go to the science center tommorrow! fun! |

| yearly feminist rant, from a non-feminist |
[Jan. 21st, 2009|08:11 pm] |
I realised I know a ridiculous amount of guys who are "photographers" and a ridiculous amount of girls who are "models"... This makes me wonder if the camera is now creating a new form of female submission. Of these male "photographers" the majority take images almost exclusivly of females. Now, I have always thought of the camera as phallic, but I have started to notice recently how quick females (myself included) are to make an object of ourselves. For god sakes, that's exactly what a picture is, an object. Of course it isn't new, but the internet makes it easy for girls to "model" and for creepy guys to give you some kind of gratification we all long for... barf. I must mention that many of the first photographers were women, that being said many of the first subjects were as well. In New York Debbie brought up a point about how the camera is just another way for men to trap women, and although I didn't think much of it at the time, I see what she means. I am starting to realise there is no such thing as the "female sexual revolution" and "lipstick feminists", because in the end that's what we have been taught to do, disquise our insecurities behind titles. We don't dress like a skank and prance around because we believe that people will really enjoy our personalities. The sad thing is those who do have great personalities likely realise they will need to dress like a slut and prance around to get any kind of attention. When was the last time we worried ourselves over "who's smarter", "better spoken"... I have been taught to think in "who's hotter?"... I know this, but can't really stop, this is one of the reasons I could never call myself a feminist, they would be ashamed... It's not the men that I hate, because they too are products of the generation, I am much more saddened by women... what's the point in fighting for a bunch of people who think that "looking hot" is her only asset. I truly believe that this is the most self loathing generation of females ever... It really really breaks my heart. Its our own fault.
It's makes me miss the days when female submission was doing the dishes and cooking dinner, there is much more dignity in that. |

| creepy pervert... oh wait... that's me! |
[Dec. 24th, 2008|02:54 pm] |
So yesterday I ran into one of Dat's co-workers ... whom i had never met... and decided to start talking to him. After a brief and akward conversation (invloving "oh, i saw you on facebook") I'm SURE I totally creeped him out! Being creepy is not cool! So I messaged Becky and admited I used to log onto Dat's Nexoipa and look at peoples pages (including her) not realising that it showed up who was on your page... and as hillarious as it was for a little bit (she even mentioned he was on there lots and I didn't say anything), I was actually the creepy one... and hopefully cleared Dat's name...
The internet makes people do bad things... |

| Daijoubu desu? |
[Dec. 19th, 2008|11:59 am] |
Gah, last night was strange! I went over to Katrina's new place and we pretty much started drinking right away, as an adorable Japanese guy cooked for us, haha. Next thing I know there are 4 adorable japanese guys (Teru, Kaita, Aita and Nozomu)! I did some ridiculous Aqua dancing. I am pretty much piss drunk and Katrina is teaching us how to make Origami cranes (yes... japanese guys did not know how to make origami cranes!), followed by me joking about my awesome japanese skill! Luckly they thoguht it was funny and were not insulted. They thought it was cute because i speak japanese like a little kid... We all were having a great time. Nicole, Janet and Lee showed up at somepoint, but by then I felt really sick! It was only like 7 and I was puking in the bathroom (luckly my new japanese friends didn't notice because they were onto a serious soccer conversation by then). They all think David Beckam is handsome, haha.
Then at some point i called Dat, who was downtown, and tryed to convince him to come over and have a threesome with Katrina and I, haha, he turned down. Then Kat and everyone was ready to go to Nanta, but soooooo was not! So I called Dat to come save me, but he said no T_T. They thought i would be better if i got out and walked to Nanta (get some fresh air and such), and I only kind of felt better but luckly Dat was there when we got there. I drank lots of water and ate some food and eventually I sang a few songs. Then Jon and Heather came, and I got a ride home from him! Yay! Jon is a nice boy. I hope Katrina found a guy! haha.
Gah, sleeping was hard, my bed was still moving even though it had been like 4 hours since i last drank anything. and oh my goodness my neck hurts! Too many Britney hair flips! |

Tonight Dat and I are going Christmas Swing dancing in Kensington <3.
At some point I need to blonde Jenny, because I decided the theme for this NYC trip will be "The Blonde Invasion with One Asian". |
